I have seen it happen with multiple people and it has happened to one of the phones in our house since yesterday evening.

Why do their SIMs just stop working? You are forced to take a replacement sim by paying ₹50 and the added nuisance of going to the shop, being offline etc!

Any idea why this happens only with Airtel?

Since you know a lot (no pun intended stuck_out_tongue)

Do you think there is any chance of Adani buying Vi?

That would improve it to compete the duopoly

Why do dogs lick their 🍒? Because they can.

Why do some purchase phones costing 150 thousand or cars costing millions of USDollars too? Because they can.

Why do some 🧔🏻‍♂fakeers say flabbergasting gobbledygook? Because they can and they know they can go almost scot-free even after that.

Why do some Airtel SIMs suddenly stop working? Because they can and they know they can go almost scot-free even after that.

For physical SIMs, it has been a while since government/s noted 'security concerns' in the operators/vendors importing foreign made IC/chips in those SIMs (with some ROM data already flashed in them) and insisted on indigenisation.

Not necessarily so, but that (lack of proper designing or quality control) could be one of the reasons. It could also be the 'let us try to recoup the donation funds from our paying customers' software in their servers, cell sites/towers or switches which might be triggering a 'not registered on network' error on random connections.

Could you recheck if keyword family or airtel was used by you on those posts and in which section of the forum?

Can see some post/s (of yours) mentioning postpaid connections, re-issue of replacement SIMs.
