On Samsung M53 (Bangalore), now everything is showing 5G ready from Airtel app - city, handset and software. But not getting option of 5G only in Mobile settings. Getting the generic 2G/3G/4G etc option. Looks like in my area 5G tower is not enabled. Might stop by Airtel shop and check with them.
As usual, the Airtel 4G speed is a pathetic 3 Mbps (with a small "b") download and upload speed is 0.55 Mbps at home. Compared to that, Jio 4G SIM in same M53 is showing 17.8 Mbps download and 0.51 Mbps upload via speedtest.
I am having Realme9 G hand set. Even though it is shown that my area is connected with 5G, I am not getting the signals. Airtel site is showing the set is not adaptable. Kindly guide
did anyone experience airtel or jio 5g in their respective launch cities??
For google phones, there is no update.
Only samsung mobil need otp update for 5g unable. Rest co will factory 5g ready mobil sell
For the devices tagged as software upgrade required any idea if we need to check with mobile manufacturers ?or support through OTA etc will be provided by airtel
It's just like Apple launched an e-SIM version of the iPhone 14 lineup in the US while in India, you get a full-fledged physical SIM card version of the iPhone 14 series since we have not started using e-SIM here as often as the western countries.
I hope my answer helps.
is Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Airtel 5G supported device ? 😳
Damn, though i have two among in the above list , don't have airtel sims in my household 😃
Thanks for the list @Sahil_Jain
Looks like M33 is already 5G ready no OTA needed however Airtel app shows not supported. Let me check again
The list of the supported devices is available on Airtel's official website. So if the Airtel app is not showing your device, maybe you can try updating the app. Or it might be a mistake on Airtel's part.
