After a long wait, Airtel has started rolling out its 5G services in India, and needless to say, we are really excited to use 5G, aren’t we? As of now, Airtel has rolled out 5G services in these 8 cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Varanasi, Nagpur, and Siliguri. So if you live in one of these cities, you are eligible to use Airtel 5G on your 5G smartphone right now.

Although we all predicted that Reliance Jio will be the first Internet Service provider to launch 5G in India, Airtel has claimed the title by launching 5G first in the 8 cities that we have mentioned above. Users in those 8 cities are already enjoying a 5G network and up to 30x faster internet speed, claimed by Airtel.
If you are a Reliance Jio user, you might be interested in Jio 5G Launch Announced.
Compared to the 4 cities that will get to see Reliance Jio’s 5G network first, the list of 8 eligible cities by Airtel is just double what Jio has planned.
To use Airtel 5G on your smartphone, you need to meet the following requirements:
A 5G smartphone (More 5G bands, the better)
Location: You need to be present in any of these 8 cities to use Airtel 5G: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Varanasi, Nagpur, and Siliguri.
That’s it! You do not even need a 5G SIM card to use Airtel 5G. Once you make sure that your smartphone and location are perfect for using 5G with your Airtel SIM card, follow these steps:
On your 5G smartphone, go to Settings > Network Settings/Connections.
Select the 5G network mode to use it on your smartphone.
Yup, this is all you need to do to get a 5G network and speeds on your smartphone with an Airtel SIM card.
Though the Airtel 5G service is yet to be launched all over India, you can enjoy 20x-30x faster internet speeds now with Airtel 5G if you live in the 8 metro cities mentioned above.

Here are some commonly asked questions about the Airtel 5G network that users are searching answers for to. We have tried answering these questions in the best possible manner.
Nope; as of now, you do not any 5G SIM card to use Airtel 5G on your smartphone. All you need is a device that supports 5G and has enough 5G bands to run the latest network. This brings us to our next question.
Speaking clearly, there is no particular number of 5G bands that a smartphone should have in order to be a true 5G device. Though, it is recommended to get a smartphone that has at least 7-8 5G bands as that is the bare minimum. Also, experts believe that these four 5G bands are a must for any smartphone to run 5G: N28, N41, N77, and N78.
Airtel has said that the ISP company would roll out 5G in phases and aims to cover some of the major cities by the end of 2023. By 2024, Airtel would launch 5G all over India. Till now, the service is made available to 8 cities only, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Varanasi, Nagpur, and Siliguri.

Bangalore was one of the first cities but I have seen 5G symbol only on 1 location so far
It is not available in Hyderabad, Still showing 4G
Location - Hyderabad
Device - Samsung33 5G ( Bought and received on 4th Oct )
Until 7th Oct - 5G Handset - Okay
5G Software - Not Okay - says needed software update
on 8th Oct Suddenly without any software update started getting 5G signal.
Speeds ; Inside the apartment 20Mbps to 40 Mbps
on the Balcony 190Mbps to 200Mbps
Bangalore
Why they are not counting Pune for initial roll out
Requesting those who have tried (irrespective of whether 5G is working or not working) to include your location and device model in post.
Anyone got 5g signal on their smartphone?
There was news about Apple, Samsung and One+ requiring software update. Anyone had luck in Bangalore with any of these manufacturers? (I am going to try it later today on my imported LG V50 and local Samsung M53)
Also videos on this would be very useful for the public also this would be great YouTube/social media content for content creators in the upcoming year
Isn't last city is Kolkata or Siliguri? @Sahil_Jain
Having 5G phone still not getting network in Kolkata yet of 5G for neither Jio nor Airtel
Cool, seems no need to upgrade to airtel 5g sim as they only provide 3g speeds on the name of 5g
#airtel ,always sucks 😃
