Apple starts manufacturing iPhone 14 in India: What this means for Indian iPhone enthusiasts?

There were several rumors of iPhone 14 India manufacturing. Yesterday (26th Sept 2022) Apple announced that it has started manufacturing iPhone 14 in India. This will further lower the price of iPhone 14 in the coming months.
Apple said,
“The new iPhone 14 lineup introduces groundbreaking new technologies and important safety capabilities. We’re excited to be manufacturing the iPhone 14 in India.” What’s more, the make-in-India iPhone 14 will also be exported from India besides being sold in the country itself.
The iPhone 14 is being manufactured at Sriperumbudur plant which is just outside Chennai. Foxconn, a Taiwanese firm, has already started working with local suppliers a month back to fasten production.
The company is planning to produce 5% of its global iPhone 14 production from India by 2023. JP Morgan analysts say that Apple is targeting to manufacture 25% of all iPhones in India by 2025.
The reason for iPhone 14 India manufacturing is supply chain issues and extreme power cuts in China. However, it will be still on in China simultaneously. Previously, India manufactured the iPhone 13 six to seven months after its launch.
Tim Cook said that the June quarter recorded nearly 2X revenue from India for iPhones. Apple is also developing a unique app design and development accelerator in Bangalore. With PM Narendra Modi’s make-in-India initiative, Apple will support renewable energy developments in India via these manufacturing processes.
The Apple India Diwali Festive offers also started yesterday. It promises upto ₹7000 instant savings and more rewards. Other than this, Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale and Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale have also come up with great offers on iPhones and other Apple gadgets.
