Amazon Prime Video benefits & rules are changing from the year 2025. Bad news for Prime Video subscribers, no more password-sharing beyond 5 devices and no more ad-free experience for low-tier subscription plans. In a recent email received by Amazon Prime Video subscribers, Amazon India has started “Starting January 2025, we are updating our usage terms in India to include up to two TVs as part of your five devices entitlement.” Similarly, there are a few more changes you must be aware of. Learn below all the Amazon Prime Video changes from 2025 & more.

Amazon Prime Video which has over 200M paying users is all set to make a big change in its terms and conditions starting January 2025. Similar to Netflix, Prime Video’s password-sharing crackdown is here.
Until now, Prime Video users have been able to share their membership across up to 10 devices, making it a more affordable option for families and groups. However, starting January 2025, users in India will face new restrictions, allowing sharing on a maximum of 5 devices, with only 2 of those being TV devices.
One workaround could be using your PC/Laptop to stream Prime Video and connect it to the TV using an HDMI cable . In this setup it's possible that Amazon Prime may consider the streaming device as a normal device instead of a TV device. 💡

Ott players digging their own graves gradually.
Password sharing stopping would have been ok, but device limitations would be bad. We have tvs in different rooms and limiting logins to two TVs would mean a headache.
They should rather limit parallel streaming to two .
So if device limits are enforced, I would rather setup alternative non paying methods even though I would have Amazon prime. Time to sail the high seas.
Still better than Disney+
