Below is a detailed review of all of the above air coolers under the 5K price we mentioned.

Bajaj Air Cooler under Rs.5000 (24 Litres, 1+2 Years Warranty)

1. Bajaj Air Cooler under Rs.5000 (24 Litres, 1+2 Years Warranty)

Bajaj personal air coolers under 5000 budget are probably one of the best one can buy. The Bajaj PX 97 has some raving reviews all over YouTube. It costs slightly higher than 5K but if you are short on budget, you can check out the Bajaj PX 25 personal air cooler which comes with 1+2 years warranty (probably the only air cooler brand to offer 3Y warranty under 5K price) and has a 24L water tank capacity. Generally for most air coolers under Rs.5000 price, their air throw quality is often lower. However, the Bajaj PX 25 has a 5M air throw which is good. After all, it is a personal air cooler. If you have a room size of 150 to 200 sq.ft with temperature ranging between 35 to 40 degrees, Bajaj Px 25 can be a good air cooler under 5000 rupees to buy.

Pros: Why the Bajaj PX 25 is a good cooler to buy under Rs.5000
  • Good build quality

  • 1+2 years warranty (1 year for motor and 2 years on the pump). Check Bajaj service charges for cooler.

  • Good air throw (easily 9 feet) and air delivery (sufficient for a 150 to 200 sq.ft room)

  • Inverter compatible, 4-way swing deflection & has wheels for portability

Cons: Things we don’t like about the Bajaj PX 25
  • It is 70.5cm in height which might feel a bit short if your sleeping bed is elevated.

  • Water inlet is extremely small which makes it a tedious task to refill water (unless you refill water by opening the back panel)

  • Sufficient for up to 2 people (it cannot cool an entire room)

  • Since its 24L, if you use it for say 10-12 hours in a day, you will need to refill the water everyday

  • Some noise is there (common with air coolers in this budget)

Price: Rs.5299

You can use Zepto bank offers, coupons to buy this air cooler at Rs.4899 OR use Flipkart VIP membership (5% OFF using SuperCoins) + Flipkart Axis Credit Card, HDFC Swiggy, SBI Cashback Cards to get an extra 5% OFF on Flipkart. (save more using Flipkart Sale offers)

Kenstar Air Cooler with Ice Chamber under 5000 Price

2. Kenstar Air Cooler with Ice Chamber under 5000 Price

One of the best low-budget air coolers under 4000 to 5000 price is Kenstar 27L air cooler with honeycomb pad cooling. The cooler also comes with an air chamber so on super hot days you can simply put some ice cubes, fill the water tank and enjoy cool air for a sustained period. It has pretty decent build quality, a double ball bearing motor & a concealed pump and an overall 1-year warranty. It weighs about 6.3 Kg, same as the Bajaj PX25 air cooler we mentioned above. In terms of quality, Bajaj seems better. However, one drawback between Kenstar Turbocool 27Litre aircooler vs Baja PX25 is that Kenstar comes with an ice chamber which Bajaj doesn’t. But Bajaj also offers 1+2 years warranty instead of 1 year from Kenstar.

Pros: Why the Kenstar Turbocool 27L is a good cooler to buy under Rs.5000
  • Comes with an Ice Chamber to boost cooling effect

  • Has better air delivery & speed than Bajaj PX25 (2200 CMH in Kenstar)

  • Using Flipkart coupons & credit cards, you can easily buy Kenstar Turbocool 27L air cooler under 4000 price or a little over that. So it's pretty affordable for those not wanting to spend beyond Rs.4000 on air coolers.

  • Has a water tank capacity of 27L. It is also slightly bigger in size compared to Bajaj air coolers at the same price.

Cons: Things we don’t like about the Kenstar Turbocool 27L
  • Promises to come with a dust filter but we couldn’t see one

  • Build quality could have been better. For example, Bajaj PX25 is a 24L air cooler and it weighs 6.3Kg but the Kenstar one is a 27L air cooler & it still weighs the same as Bajaj PX25.

  • Makes noise (50dB) even though the company claims it to perform a “whispering-quiet operation”

Price: Rs.5299 (27 Litre) and Rs.6299 (45L)

Symphony Personal Air Cooler with Ice Chamber: Pros & Cons for Buying

3. Symphony Personal Air Cooler with Ice Chamber: Pros & Cons for Buying

Symphony is probably one of the best known brands in the air coolers space. If you need an air cooler with ice cooling and moving louvres for even cooling across the room, the Symphony Personal Air Cooler might be up your alley. In terms of build quality, it isn’t the best out there. But for air coolers under Rs.5000 to Rs.5500, this is surely considerable, why? Because you get an ice chamber, an auto-louvre feature, good air flow for rooms up to 172 sq.ft and even a good height of 80cm.

Pros about Symphony Personal Air Cooler:
  • Water overflow outlet is given at the bottom (instead on the sides)

  • You get three sided honeycomb pads water cooling instead of only one.

  • Good air cooler for smaller rooms up to 172 sq.ft and 3-4 people depending on the humidity level.

  • Auto-louvre movement helps in distributing cool air across the room

  • Since it’s a fan air cooler, it makes less noise on low-setting and moderate noise on high settings compared to a blower fan air cooler (which makes more noise + consume more energy)

  • Has an ice chamber (gives great cooling if you put ice)

  • Keep in mind, this air cooler works the best with cross-ventilation so be sure to place it near an open window to give better cooling

Cons about Symphony Personal Air Cooler:
  • i-Pure Technology is simply a gimmick. The filters (just 2 to 5) are randomly placed and literally of a local train ticket size which are of no use for a cooler of 83cm height and 7.3Kg of weight.

  • Plastic quality feels quite cheap

  • May not work for you if you’ve hard water (the pump may fail)

  • Ice chamber & water inlet are not separate so even if you put some ice, it might not last long. But still having an ice chamber is still better than not having it.

  • Knob control doesn’t have a proper marking to indicate its position

Price: Rs.5791 (get around Rs.5500 using Flipkart VIP + Flipkart Axis Card)

Bajaj PX97 Personal Air Cooler

4. Bajaj PX97 Personal Air Cooler

Next up on our list of the best air coolers in 5000 price in India in 2025 is Bajaj PX97. This one has a high air throw of 9M and a high CMH (air delivery) of 1500 to 2000. So this Summer, ditch the scorching heat with a fresh, cooling breeze from the Bajaj PX97. It weighs about 8.3Kgs and has a water tank capacity of 36L to offer cooling for a longer period of time. Do note that in terms of power, it is more powerful compared to Baja PX25. Bajaj PX25 only consumes 100W energy whereas Bajaj PX97 consumes 140W. On top of that due to a bigger sized build, fan and water tank capacity, it can generate better cooling.

Pros about Baja PX97 Personal Air Cooler:
  • Good build quality

  • 1+2 years warranty which probably no other brand offers

  • Water tank capacity of 36L

  • High air delivery of 1500 RPM to 2000 RPM

  • Good air throw up to 9M

  • Best air cooler for small rooms with 2-3 people and 39°c to even 43°c (add an exhaust fan to the room if needed)

Cons about Bajaj PX97 Personal Air Cooler:
  • The water inlet is too small. The only option to put ice in it is to open the back panel which is not user-friendly

  • If you use the cooler on high-speed, it lasts about 6 hours so you need to refill the water twice a day if you wish to use for an entire day (since it has high rpm and high air throw so water evaporates faster)

  • Swing deflection is horizontal and it feels quite limited (about 100°) so the cool air doesn’t spread across the room.

  • No dust filter even though the company claims it

  • Makes noise (just like most other air coolers under 5000 to 10,000 price)

Price: Rs.5749

Sansui: Best air cooler under Rs.4000 price (with Ice Chamber)

5. Sansui: Best air cooler under Rs.4000 price (with Ice Chamber)

If you are looking to get an affordable air cooler under Rs.4000 price, Sansui 37L is highly considerable. Before we move forward, please note that you cannot compare Sansui’s quality with Bajaj, Symphony, Crompton, Orient, Hindware, etc. They sure have better build but they also come at a cost. So only consider buying a Sansui 37L air cooler under Rs.4000 or around Rs.3600. In the months of June to November, the price generally comes down. Nevertheless, here’s what we like and dislike about the Sansui 37L air cooler.

Pros about Sansui Air Cooler:
  • Affordable (you can even buy at Rs.3699 during sale offers, off-season times)

  • Comes with an ice chamber for super cool breeze

  • Good water tank capacity at this price (37 Litres)

  • Adjustable louver movement, speed control knob and cooling modes.

  • Claims to throw air up to 8.5M, but we found it to work best around 4-5M which is still not bad

  • Comes with a mosquito net filter, a 1.5m chord and decent wheels for portability

Cons about Sansui Air Cooler:
  • The cool air it throws is unidirectional (it doesn’t seem to use any deflectors so don’t expect that it would cover a wider area for cooling)

  • Good enough for a small 10x10 room only.

  • Consumes more energy (around 140W)

  • Water inlet space is non-existent so you only have one option, i.e., to lift up the back panel and then try to fill water

  • Honeycomb pad water cooling is only one-sided (instead of being three-sided) so don’t expect it to work like charm.

Price: Rs.4000 to Rs.5699
