Durgamati: The Myth Review
We would, but this in the most honest way is Indian horror movies, lacks the element of horror in most of their movies. We would rather call it a thriller, instead of tagging horror to it.
That being said, let's talk about the script of the movie. The main issue was the story of the movie takes off in the last 30 minutes and is stretched throughout the remaining 2 hours or so. While we like a good hook and being reeled to watch a movie, this was something that makes you hit the forward button several times.
While Bhumi Pednekar despite the weak script, she pulled off her role just by doing her part. Bhumi's energy as Durgamati was not quite in place, but she did have some scenes that gave us goosebumps. While we can clearly see the efforts, she was putting for the stunts and heavy lifting, she seemed to be trying too hard.
Durgamati: The Myth - The Last Word
All said and done, Durgamati is a film that people will want to watch, and you might regret watching it, but then you will be okay with watching it. It is easier said than done, and as critics and audience, we would give the movie a 3 only on the star efforts and scenes.
Let us know what your views for the movies are, and what your thoughts are on Bhumi Pednekar's performance.
