Fuels such as petrol, diesel, cng, etc are now a daily part of our lives with Petrol being consumed the most. Petrol recently crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark for the 1st time in India. In such a case, people are looking for ways to save on fuel expenses. Some of the used tactics include, less usage, public transport preference, and same pace run(maintaining constant speed throughout).
There are other ways as well where you can save fine amounts without much hassles. Let’s have a look at them. Before that, here are the Best Electric Scooters in India which is the best option currently to save on petrol/fuel in India.

The IndianOil HDFC Bank Credit Card promises to give upto 50 Litres of Free Fuel every year. It gives 5% back as Fuel Points(2 yrs validity) on paying your fuel bills at IndianOil. You can earn a maximum of 250 Fuel Points per month for the first 6 months. After that, the maximum earning is capped to 150 Fuel Points per month.
You can redeem Fuel Points as paying for fuel, shopping via HDFC netbanking, and credit card(this same card) cashback. If you wanna pay for fuel with these points then 1 Fuel Point = 3 XtraRewards Points = Rs 0.96. Thus, if you have 500 Fuel Points then you will get Free fuel worth Rs 480. For netbanking shopping and card cashback, 1 Fuel Point = Rs 0.20. Thus, it is better to redeem it for petrol, diesel, etc.
To get this card, job people should have a minimum salary of Rs 10,000 and for business guys, annual Income Tax Return filed should be greater than Rs 6 lakhs. The cost of this card is Rs 500 per year. With this card, you also get 1% fuel surcharge waiver at all petrol pumps in India with a minimum transaction of Rs 400. You can apply for it by logging in on the below given page.

The Payback HPCL Rewards Program earns you payback points on your fuel purchases at HP(Hindustan Petroleum) stations. You earn 4 Payback points on every Rs 100 spent when you pay via HP Pay app. Here, 1 Payback point = Rs 0.25. Thus, you earn 1% of your fueling bill. You can redeem these points as HP Pay wallet balance and then pay for fuel via the app.

On the Fyool App, you will earn cashback for uploading your petrol, diesel, or CNG bills. Currently, the app gives 50% cashback on all fuel categories. You can redeem this cashback for shopping on the app from categories like baby products, household care, kitchen tools, electronics, mobiles, clothing, and more.
Every product’s cost is divided into 2 parts i.e. money you pay and Fyool money. For instance, Samsung U Flex bluetooth headphone’s cost of Rs 1099 is divided as Rs 879.2(you pay) + Rs 219.8(Fyool Money). Thus, if you have this amount in your Fyool account then you only need to pay Rs 879.2.
We went through some of its reviews on Google Play Store and found that it might not be a trusted company. Many reviews said that they paid online for the product(COD not available), but didn’t receive the product. Moreover, the customer care number doesn’t work often. Also, they added that the products are priced high. In our view, you can explore this app and try to transact with a small amount and then see how it goes.
The Mobikwik App gives you cashback(SuperCash) for paying your petrol, diesel, and other fuel bills via it. You need to scan the Mobikwik QR code at the fuel station and apply the code “KWIK50” to avail 10% cashback on minimum fuel of Rs 50. You can earn a maximum of Rs 50 in a month with only 1 transaction limit per month. Moreover, you will get 0.75%(max Rs 150/month) additional cashback on IndianOil and HP fuel stations.
On the redemption front, you can use 5% SuperCash for paying fuel bills of minimum Rs 100. This SuperCash usage limit is Rs 40/day and Rs 200/month. You can pay the remaining amount via Mobikwik wallet or payment methods in the app. You can check the eligible fuel stations at your nearby locations in the app.

The IndianOil XtraRewards Loyalty Program is Free of cost. You simply need to register yourself and fill the enrollment form. You can also visit an IndianOil retail outlet to get your XtraRewards card or enroll via Paytm app(pay via Paytm only). It gives you 1 XtraRewards point on every Rs 75 spent at any of 25,000 participating IndianOil outlets. Here, 1 XtraRewards point = Rs 0.30. Thus, you earn Rs 1 for every Rs 250 spent. You can redeem these points for paying your fuel bills.
Using Fuel credit cards is another great way to save on fuel expenses. They give benefits like cashback, free fuel, partner(food, entertainment, etc) offers, and more. Although, you must also take care to pay your card bills on time to avoid piling on penalties as fuel is nowadays a daily necessity.

not all IOC pumps are there now. Forget cashback, you will not get surcharge waiver as well.
Earlier I used to get the discount on most IOC pumps, but in my last trip of 4500 km, took oil on Indian Oil only, and to my shock and got waiver only once.
Booked ola there is no good offer than to gofor ev
is installing LPG gas kit a good idea to save fuel ?. Will it atleast reduce some burden on fuel expense ?
Yes it is a good option..but do keep a few things in mind. Lpg gas availability in your region (south india has more pumps than north side)
Maintenance is a bit more( frequently have to change oil and spark plug than regular petrol cars)
If not installed correctly then engine life will reduce and driving performance will be bad as well.
Wait till 2024.
