Reliance Jio is supposedly making its move into the domestic laptop market, with all the features that make a good laptop—actively working on the 'JioBook', including all the advanced features and banking on reasonability as its vital aspect. It isn't surprising as Reliance has always ventured and mastered the goodwill of being experimentative while understanding commoner's needs.
The JioBook could soon be launching at an affordable price that would provide 4G LTE support. According to an online report, the telecom giant has already started working on a "larger screen device, " which will reach its Product Validation Test stage by April this year. The device is in its development stage and is expected to continue into the first half of 2021. JioBook will run on Android OS that could be called JioOS and could also feature Jio apps.
Reportedly partnering with Chinese manufacturer Bluebank Communication Technology for creating the JioBook, XDA Developers, the company seems to develop JioPhone models at its factory already.
Jio is reportedly partnering with China-based engineering firm Bluebank Communication Technology, as per records evaluated by XDA. Bluebank builds mobile devices, develops software for third parties, and builds products that run KaiOS, a mobile operating system also featured on JioPhones.
Economic Times report says that the Reliance CEO, Mukesh Ambani, then contemplated running the potential laptop on a Windows 10 operating system (OS) with built-in cellular connectivity for the Indian market. However, the company has now changed from what was initially discussed where parts and software are concerned, the report notes. The chipset features a built-in 4G LTE modem — the Snapdragon X12 — that the JioBook will possibly leverage to provide cellular connectivity to Reliance Jio’s expansive 4G network.

In terms of specifications, XDA Developers states that the current prototype of the JioBook has the following specification –
The laptop has been tested in many repetitions, and one of its models has 2GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage. Another model features 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage.
Specifications about the pricing and availability of the JioBook aren't announced yet. However, the laptop is expected to be ready under a budget segment later this year. The coronavirus pandemic has pushed laptops across global markets as people mainly work from home to follow social distancing measures. Influencing laptop makers, including Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, have seen significant growth in their laptop shipments in India and other regions worldwide. The remote working culture may also help Jio gain further success with its affordable laptop.
Lastly, the XDA article suggests the JioBook may launch around mid-May. The laptop orders come with a "low price", although there is no word on the exact price yet. We hope to learn more about the JioBook launch, specifications, and Price in India soon.
