At its newest event, POCO introduced two of its latest phones, the POCO M5 and POCO M5s. Leaving the POCO M5s aside right now, the POCO M5 comes with quite confusing specifications. The exact same specs have received quite the attention and many critics claim this phone to be one of the bests in its segment. Though, general users are not so impressed with this launch. Launched at Rs 12500, the POCO M5 gets a further price cut in the Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale, 2022. So, let’s see which kind of users this phone targets and whether you should get it or not.

Xiaomi POCO M5 Specifications and Launch Price: MediaTek Helio G99 and More

The Xiaomi POCO M5 comes with the latest MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, based on 6nm technology. This shows that the same processor is much more power-efficient than its predecessor, MediaTek Helio G96. It is a 4G processor with an ANTUTU score of around 365000. Considering some other phones in this price range, POCO M5 would outperform most of them.

Let’s move on to its display, one of the least attractive features of the POCO M5. It has an IPS LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The refresh rate isn't 120 Hz, right? But the main problem is that the phone has a water drop notch at the top. This makes the phone look way older and we have seen many phones in the same price range with punch-hole displays.

The POCO M5 boasts a battery of 5000 mAh and you also get a 22.5W charger in the box, though the phone supports 18W charging.

When it comes to the cameras, the three-camera setup in POCO M5 is just a gimmick since the two cameras other than the primary one are pretty useless. It has no ultrawide sensor. With a combination of 50 MP + 2 MP + 2MP cameras, the POCO M5 has a decent primary camera.

It also has an IP52 rating which is quite rare in this price range. Also, its design is one of its highlights which might attract many. With a completely black portion that has the branding of POCO and the camera module, the POCO M5 looks quite different than the other phones in the same category.

All in all, the POCO M5 4G is a budget gaming phone that targets the younger generation. With the MediaTek Helio G99, you can enjoy quite many games without worrying much about the battery. Though, there aren’t many other reasons why someone would get this phone. Also, MIUI is a big concern for many.

The phone is announced at a price of ₹12,500 for the 4GB/64GB variant. Do you think that the specs and features justify this price?

POCO M5 Available at Rs 10,999 in the Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale

As mentioned earlier, the POCO M5 4G will have a discounted price of ₹10,999 in the BBD Sale by Flipkart. Now if you consider this price, the specs of this phone seem to be quite good, right? Though there’s a problem; if the POCO M5 is getting a discount, it doesn’t mean that the other phones will remain at their same prices, does it? You may even get some better options at the same price. So, it’s better to wait until Flipkart announces all offers on different mobile phones in the Big Billion Days Sale. Once you get to know the best prices for some other phones, it will be easier for you to make the right decision, wouldn’t it?
