Reliance Jio, adding to its long list of firsts, has launched 4G voice and data services in Spangmik hamlet near Pangong Lake in Ladakh, making it the first operator to do so in the region.

The Hon'ble Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal inaugurated the Jio Mobile Tower in Spangmik hamlet near Pangong Lake. Pangong Lake is one of Ladakh's most famous tourist destinations, attracting thousands of visitors each year from India and throughout the world.

Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, a Member of Parliament, congratulated the residents of the area and stated that Jio has satisfied a long-standing need of the people with this launch. This launch will help the region's economy while also offering seamless connections for visitors and military personnel in the area.

Jio launched its services in Kanji, Urbis, and Hanupatta villages in Khalsi Block, as well as Chunglungkha village in Diskit Block, in May. Jio already has 4G coverage in the region, in places like Kargil, Zanskar, and Demchok. JioFiber Internet services are also available in Leh.

Reliance Jio just became the country's first telecom operator to provide mobile telephony service to the Kedarnath hiking route. Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Mandir Samiti, Ajendra Ajay, launched the service that provides telecom connections between the Kedarnath shrine and Gaurikund.

"With a large number of pilgrims expected to visit the Char Dham Yatra this year, Jio has upgraded its network on the Kedarnath trek route to provide devotees with a superior mobile connectivity experience," Reliance said. According to PTI, Jio announced the breakthrough in a statement, saying that the service will allow customers to stay connected with their loved ones via voice and video chats.

Jio claimed it has already installed a full capacity tower in Sonprayag, which is one of the important halt spots on the Kedarnath hike route, in terms of specifics of the newly announced service. Between the Kedarnath Shrine and Gaurikund, the business aims to build five additional towers. One of India's leading telecom companies, Jio, has already built cellular towers at Chhoti Lincholi, Lincholi, and Rudrapoint. It intends to build two additional telecom towers along this path in the near future.
