Reliance Jio expanded its prepaid plan portfolio with a new plan that offers a validity of a whole month. Called ‘Calendar Month Validity Prepaid Plan’, the plan will offer users validity for an entire month (30/31 days). Following in Jio’s footsteps other telecom service providers have responded to Reliance Jio's announcement of calendar month recharge plans by releasing their own 30-day packs.
The telecom service providers only counted 28 days per month for prepaid packs until a few days ago. Jio was the first to introduce a calendar month prepaid plan after receiving approval from the TRAI, and now Airtel and Vodafone Idea have followed suit.

Since December of last year, prepaid recharge packs have increased by up to 20%. All of the leading telecom companies, including Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea, have raised their prepaid recharge rates. The users will be relieved by the extra two days. The calendar month plans from Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea are below.
Jio was the first to provide 30-day recharge bundles. It offers a 296 Jio Freedom plan that includes 30 days of validity, unlimited calling, and 100 SMS per day. The Jio prepaid plans include 25GB of data each month.

as per my knowledge this is not the initiative by jio it is the order issued by trai to mandatory introduce 30 days plans
it would be good if the try have instead ordered to abolish all 28 days plans
when there is no competition commenting on the price is useless
How to port jio number to airtel without having an active plan?
In some circles (for prepaid) the port messages were going even in 99₹ pack.My bad. I misread it as VI to Airtel.
Jio is weird. Not sure but the lowest 21 day or 28 day validity pack might work.
@Akansha_B It seems there is a typo in 2nd row of table mentioning VI
plans. The amount is mentioned as Rs 319 while the actual amount is Rs 337 which is correctly mentioned in the lines above the table.
This heading is completely wrong. It’s JIO that made 28 days plans, earlier we used to have 30 day plans and life time validity plans etc.,
With its disruptive market strategies, JIO changed everything. Other telcos had to follow ( and close like Reliance, or merge life VI). Now you can’t find lower denomination plans like 36 per year to keep your sim live.
This sudden change is due to TRAI guidelines. (Of course some of guidelines were ignored as usual)
So, Jio postpaid 199 is the best plan in the country so far.
yes sms pack given under 20rs
No one is following anyone. It’s as per trais order.
TRAI ordered every TSP shall offer at least one Plan Voucher, one STV and one Combo Voucher which shall be renewable on the same date of every month and if the date of such renewal is not available in a month, the date of renewal shall be the last date of that month.
Timeline of 2 months provided by TRAI for the implementation of the Telecom Tariff Order.
Same is the case for TRAI directives which makes telcos to allow sms on all recharge denominations, even like 10rs recharge etc. But nobody gives a Sh%t including TRAI itself. Otherwise the way they enforced DTH price hike or revision without even their field of operation, they could also enforce this rule. But….
Like everything else, recharge is expensive too
BSNL have 30 days plan too.
Earlier, it used to be 30 days only. Airtel-Vodafone did it 28 days, now going back to 30 days again and showing as if they are bringing big ehsaan offer for customers.
