Mosques have been blasting messages to not give information about people having fever, cough, cold, etc to Asha nurses in Bangalore. They are even conducting namaz with lots of people.
Sadiq Nagar muslim men have attacked Asha nurses who were out doing surveys for health and nobody is interested to give justice to the poor women.
Corona will spread like wildfire because of these depraved acts by these animals. Stay away from these people. Save yourselves, your family and neighbours.
Government should quarantine the whole area, let them die (they are choosing death)
Born during lockdown, Raipur twins named ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’
The pandemic caused by a new virus may have brought the world to its knees, but that has not deterred a couple in Chhattisgarh to name their newborn twins as ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’.
The two words may evoke fear and devastation in minds of others, but for the Raipur-based couple they symbolise triumph over hardships as the twins — a boy and a girl — were born during the ongoing coronavirus-enforced nationwide lockdown which has disrupted normal life.
The names, they said, would remind them about all the hardships they conquered amid the lockdown, ahead of a successful delivery on the intervening night of March 26-27 at a government hospital here.
However, the couple said they may change their decision later and rename their kids. I was blessed with the twins – a boy and a girl – in the early hours on March 27. We have named themCovid (boy) and Corona (girl) for now," Preeti Verma, the 27-old mother of the newborns, told PTI.
“The delivery happened after facing several difficulties and therefore, me and my husband wanted to make the day memorable. “Indeed the virus is dangerous and life-threatening but its outbreak made people focus on sanitation, hygiene and inculcate other good habits. Thus, we thought about these names,” she said, giving reasons for their unusual decision.
“When the hospital staff also started calling the babies as Corona and Covid, we finally decided to name them after the pandemic,” she said.

Surging COVID-19 cases shows Americans not following social distancing
The surge in number of the coronavirus cases in the United States reveals that Americans are not following the Trump administration’s social distancing guidelines, White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Deborah Birx said on Friday.
“I can tell by the curve that not every American is following it (social distance guidelines),” Birx said during the White House’s daily coronavirus briefing.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the country is now leading the world with more than 2,42,000 confirmed cases and 5,850 deaths. Nearly 30,000 new cases were registered within the last 24 hours.
Researchers have tested a potential vaccine for COVID-19 in mice, which when delivered through a fingertip-sized patch, produced an immune response specific to the novel coronavirus at quantities thought to be sufficient for neutralising the virus.
The study, published in the journal EBioMedicine, noted that when tested in mice, the PittCoVacc — short for Pittsburgh Coronavirus Vaccine — generated a surge of antibodies against the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, within two weeks of delivering it.
“We had previous experience on SARS-CoV in 2003 and MERS-CoV in 2014. These two viruses, which are closely related to SARS-CoV-2, teach us that a particular protein, called a spike protein, is important for inducing immunity against the virus,” said co-senior author Andrea Gambotto from the University of Pittsburgh in the US.

A Monash University-led study has shown a single dose of the drug Ivermectin could stop the SARS-CoV-2 virus growing in cell culture.
‘We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA (effectively removed all genetic material of the virus) by 48 hours and that even at 24 hours there was a really significant reduction in it,’ Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute’s Dr Kylie Wagstaff said on Friday.

Response to Corona outbreak has been callous by most countries of the world with very few exceptions like South Korea. Countries like USA & India had ample time to ‘gearup’ medically as first reported case outside China happened weeks later after initial outbreak. China itself followed its usual censorship in denying the outbreak for at least 30 days…
During World War 2 even cloth factories were dishing out advanced parts for missiles & Submarines in US, Europe and Japan within days then why they couldn’t have made it compulsory for some factories to make lot simpler items like masks and protective gear..
Periodic compulsory screening for those with recent foreign travel history would have averted lots of cases. Eg. After 7, 14, & 21 days people with foreign travel have to report at medical centre for screening. A person who returned from Dubai gave traditional feast for passing of his mother in Morena. He along with dozens have been tested positive and 1500 attended the feast.
Jamaati people haven’t only bestowed India with their gifts but many other countries. They earlier ‘gathered’ in Malaysia and though most of them travelled straight to India – many have gone to other SAARC countries, Australia, Canada…

I am not sure whether to laugh or cry seeing this particular mention!
The incomepetents couldn’t do one test and gave free passes to those people with foreign travel history to spread the virus and here we are talking about periodic screening!
Oh yeah they did periodic screening (every 2 days) for those who got tested positive for the virus and those high profile cases(?) who got in touch with those positive cases

There are many more clusters present in India going undetected. Government found one big cluster (Tablighi Jamaat) and upon contact tracing, we were able to find positive cases in remote areas of India. Those cases were not even in Government’s radar earlier.
Infected people must have traveled in Metro trains. How ICMR can deny community transmission (at-least in metro cities) is beyond me.
Similarly, there are other clusters that exist, they may be smaller in numbers and strength. I am assuming that some people may be afraid to report themselves. Government needs to ramp us testing, else it will be too late.
A man suspected to have contracted the coronavirus infection allegedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of a hospital in central Delhi, police said on Sunday.
The 37-year-old man was admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital on March 31, they said.
Around 11.30 pm on Saturday, he jumped from the third floor of the hospital. He first hit a tin roof before hitting the ground, fracturing his leg, police said.
According to doctors, his condition is stable and the result for his coronavirus test is still awaited.

Now, A four-year-old female Malayan tiger at the US Zoo has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The cats are believed to have been infected by a zoo keeper who has also tested +ve.

Eminent cardiac surgeon Devi Prasad Shetty on Thursday favoured lifting of the country-wide lockdown after the 21-days spell and limiting its enforcement only in areas reporting high incidences of COVID-19 cases.
The Chairman and Executive Director of Narayana Health said, ‘medically speaking it would not make a big difference’ if the 21-days lockdown in the entire country is continued.
“But what needs to be done is to keep testing as many people as possible and wherever you find in pockets where there is high incidence, that area should be locked down small, small areas by doing this we can contain this (spread of Coronavirus).
“The whole country need not be locked down (after the 21-dayslockdown),” Shetty told PTI.
