You won’t get any channels. Channels are going to disappear. You will have to search your content and watch. Everything will change. It will be frustrating in beginning that you can’t change channels that easily. But slowly it will teach you how to be patient. Slow apps, bad boxes, slow speed etc will give you less time to watch tv. Eventually it will be good for you.

I agree with you. Switching plans is big job. Its Postpaid, so can not stop. Customer care is still bad, but local LCO (Local Cable operator) are helpful. Yes BSNL shows ads on http (unsecure).
But are AirTel & Jio available at all places ? they are covering mass, leaving out places with fewer connections. That’s where BSNL comes to play.
Airtel is good in my view as I dont face any issues since the installation.

wait for few days, BSNL is upgrading its network, 100Gbps routers at all tier 1 & 2 cities, I have 300 Mbps plan with BSNL and I get full speed.
Cost is higher, but service interruption is too low. Close to 95%+ uptime
Never faced any downtime in Jio Fiber yet, just using it for a month though.
That 5% downtime made me switch from Alliance to Jio, even a 2 mins downtime at night is not tolerable, as TV Streaming and all is dependant on broadband.
Also for a small home 30Mbps plan is good enough (2 TV + few devices), I hope BSNL and others comes up with lower bandwidth plans for mass adoption.

How to know if jio or airtel fiber is available in area
You might know by distribution boxes installed near by you area on poles and also they advertise with some pamphlets/boards mentioning local distributor numbers. If you don’t find any of these Better contact Airtel store in your city they will let you know.

2500₹ deposit, first 1 month if disconnected u will get full amount back, after 1 month 1000₹ is taken as installation.

I was using airtel since last 8 years but last year onwards there was constant dsl drop hence switched to jio
Airtel is postpaid whereas Jio is prepaid, you cannot hold your connection for a month or 2, in Jio you can.
Airtel STB requires min 150 recharge and if will not do it u wont get your security deposit as well as they can take away their STB as per the T&C.
Jio requires 999 plan for all OTT apps. But other channels will work without 999 pack like Jio Tv (Not sure about this).

If I switch to 399 connection in Jio Fiber, can I use their settop box to watch youtube and free apps, free channels? Also if I login with my amazon prime and zee5 on Jio Fiber settop box, will it allow my prime/zee subscription even while on 399 jio fiber plan?

With Airtel you can port forward and use your own router. You can’t do either of these with jio. Airtel wins.

for airtel installation charge is ₹1000/- for plan 1( for further plans if you opt 3 month subscription then it will be free of cost)

Does jio fiber earlier silver plan 899+gst provides erosnow, voot subscription? I get msg to login with own account. Also myjio showing shemaroo.me subscription, but shemaroo is not at all available in jio store app store. Any used it in jio settop box?
Airtel 499 means 499+ 18% GST = 589
Also, installation changers extra. They say router free, but charge 1000 for line charges and charges around 2500 for 499 pla whcih is a cheating strategy.
Go for higher plan say 799 when get installation and pay 100o instalation, later change your plan to 499 and save your hard earned money.
Dont know about Jio.
