Flipkart has launched a rapid delivery service, dubbed "Flipkart Minutes" which aims to deliver products within 10-15 minutes. This initiative will initially target major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Flipkart plans to establish a network of dark stores to support this quick commerce venture.

This move marks Flipkart's entry into the competitive quick commerce market, which is currently dominated by players like Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, and Zepto. The service will offer a broad range of products, including groceries, FMCG items, electronics, fashion, and daily essentials, aiming to meet diverse consumer needs efficiently.
This development follows Flipkart's recent efforts to enhance its delivery capabilities, including the launch of same-day delivery services in 20 cities and specialized deliveries such as flowers and cakes during Valentine's Day. The company's expansion into quick commerce reflects a strategic effort to capture a larger share of the evolving e-commerce landscape in India
Earlier, Flipkart stepped into quick commerce via Flipkart Quick which promised 90-min delivery but had a short stay in the market. Recently, it was in talks with Zepto to acquire it but that too didn't workout. Now with Flipkart Minutes things can happen for Flipkart!
The company is also planning to start Flipkart ONDC Food Delivery within its app itself. Therefore, just like Zomato getting Paytm Movies, Flipkart is trying to expand its presence into different verticals especially with Flipkart Minutes wanting to boost its grocery & essentials segment.

😌
Well as long as the electronics are delivered intact and haven't gone bad/stale or have centipedes inside them, it's alright
Wow!
It seems like instamart, Paytm and other instat delivery companies...
Kisko itna jaldi jaldi chiz chhaiye. Me ek bar me grocery order karta hun for a month. Only buy veggies every other day. Electronics we buy 3:-4 times per year.
I guess most of us do this and might continue to do. But I am seeing many opting for this quick delivery. I stay in an apartment, and if I sit near the gate for 10 minutes, an average 2-3 delivery will happen either from zepto Or blinkit Or swiggy instamart. Just 150 flats apartment, so not even a big one. One thing I noticed is the ticket size per order is small. May be 200 rs Or 300 rs. Or 1 or 2 items.
I remember maybe in 2012 or 2013 when I used place orders for others, their first wish was kash aise order kiya aur abhi mujhe mil jaata.
The demand was Instant delivery was always there, but in fact, it was implemented very late. If covid was not there it have taken more time
As each comes with pros and cons, here also
As per me, every big wants to come into this business because of buyers impulse buying rather than profits. They are like pehle lath laga de the baadmein profits ke baare soch the
There are many colleagues who placed at least one order from this app Everyday.
A perfect example is OTT. When it was launched, we were getting it easily or for a very low price. Now, each OTT without offers costs around 1000+.
Like say in a certain flow of thoughts or anger you think "I am gonna buy a New phone right now!!" and with current delivery time that thought tend to fade away and you sometimes delay the buying. But with these apps, just after 15-30 mins of that flow of thoughts and act on it, you might have the product in your hands and you cannot even return it.

What do you mean by dark store?
It is where Flipkart will store its instant delivery items. These are present near to the targeted delivery areas. Thus, big cities have multiple dark stores. They mostly store highly popular or best selling items only, but Flipkart Minutes at start is expected to have a big catalog.
