Flipkart Axis devaluation is here and it is quite disappointing news for the 2M+ users in India who use this card. The card that was first launched as an “unlimited cashback” credit card is no more the same. Starting 20th June 2025, Flipkart Axis cardholders will get a capping of max ₹4000 cashback on Flipkart & Cleartrip per statement quarter, respectively. Now, that’s a major blow and a good reason why users are calling it a major devaluation of Flipkart Axis credit card. But wait, there's good news too. Flipkart Axis card from 20th June will start offering 7.5% cashback on Myntra instead of 1%. Catch complete details of these new changes to Flipkart Axis Card from 20th June, 2025.

The Flipkart Axis credit card is still earning 5% cashback on Flipkart & Cleartrip but from 20th June, there’ll be a new cap to the max cashback a cardholder can earn per statement. Understand the upcoming Flipkart Axis card devaluation:
Flipkart & Cleartrip: Cashback remains at 5%
Max cashback per statement quarter: Changes from unlimited to ₹4,000 each platform
There’s also a revaluation of the Flipkart Axis card particularly on the Myntra platform. Starting 20th June, cardholders will earn 7.5% cashback on Myntra instead of the previous 1%.⭐
Myntra: Cashback changes from 1% to 7.5%
Max cashback per statement quarter: ₹4,000
(get gift card worth ₹500)
.
This is another major change to your Flipkart Axis Credit Card, card holders will now have to stick to a statement quarterly limit on cashback instead of monthly limits. In simple terms, a statement quarter is just a 3-month period based on your statement date. For example, if your statement is generated on the 15th, then 1st Quarter would be 16th March – 15th June.
Cardholders now have a capping of ₹4000 cashback on Flipkart, Cleartrip & Myntra, all 3 platforms individually. For example, let’s say you spend ₹1,00,000 on Cleartrip, 5% cashback = ₹5,000, but you’ll get only ₹4,000 (limit).

.Earlier: Based on 4-digit MCC (Merchant Category Code)
Now: Based on broad spend category for easier identification
Going forward, Axis bank will be identifying transactions based on the spend category instead of MCC. The bank said in its statement:
“There is no change to the spend categories excluded from earning rewards and spend based fee waiver calculation. However, to simplify, such transactions will now be identified based on the spend category (Utility & Telecom, Rent, Wallet load, etc.) rather than the assigned 4-digit Merchant Category Code (MCC).”
In simple terms, if some merchants might have been wrongly categorized under MCCs (e.g., wallet loads getting cashback by mistake). That’ll be fixed now. If you previously got cashback by mistake (due to an incorrect MCC code), that loophole is now closed.
.
No Cashback on: Utility & Telecom, Education, Rent, Wallet loads, Government services, Insurance, Gold & Jewellery, Fuel, Financial Institutions, Cash advances, Repayments.
The card has also removed spend-based fee waiver on rent & wallet load transactions.
.
Effective 20th June 2025, complimentary domestic airport lounge access will be removed from the card benefits.
