i took jio fiber on 28 oct 2022 and billing date is 1st of everymonth. i took for 6 month postpaid plan and today i received 91.21 Rs bill. its not 6 month yet .its 5 month 4-5 days . customer care are idiots dont understand calculation. they only say its prorata bill for 4 days . what to do now??

Jio didn't disappoint me but if due to some reason Internet is not working then their engineer takes upto 3 days to fix it which was the reason to move to Airtel after 3 yrs using it.
I chose 6 months plan at ₹3000 so installation charges got waived off . I don't know what bug was there but in 40MBps plan I was actually getting upto 40MBPS download speed instead 6 MBps.
After a day later, I was getting 12.5-15 MB consistent download speed which was equal to a 100MBmps plan .
Someone had damaged their box due to which I had to restart the router after a week and unfortunately the speed returned back to original 6 MB/s.

Add the Axis Airtel Card cashback into the equation

Great useless comparison, Airtel: 4, Jio: 4... Let me summarize in 1 sentence, ask someone who is using, maybe your neighbor. Based on the locality choose one plan, don't overthink because 800 Mbps instead of 1 Gbps or 250 Mbps instead of 300 Mbps will not affect your tasks.
isoanicardmiser wrote:Are you using 3.3 Tb?, nobody uses that much. Your plan is good don't think that Bsnl is bad, the same issue happens with Airtel and Jio. I have used Railtel, jio and airtel. If you get 10 mb extra speed, it won't do any wonders for you.
I'm stuck with bsnl broadband as both the options are not available in my area. I pay 720 (plan 60mpbs till 3.3tb 599/- + gst) but I get speeds upto 90mbps. So far only had 2 days network issues (throttled speed).
In my area..Airtel has connection disruption every 10-15 days, which messes up my work. Sometimes over-power, sometimes under-power, sometimes cable theft, etc. etc.
Yes, it does provide 40mbps+ speed in 40mbps plan.
Jio is pretty consistent, however their router's range is pathetic.
Yes, it does provide 80-90% of 30mbps plan.
Considering I have barely 1-2 devices using it at once..
If you pay Airtel on semi-annual basis, it comes at 3000/6 = Rs. 500
While Jio costs, 399+18% = 470.82
So, there is barely Rs. 30 difference.
However most of the times, there are some Wallet offers in Jio from which you can further reduce the prices..
While in case of Airtel, if you can get Axis Airtel Credit Card, the costs can be further reduced.

Great comparison.. I installed jio fiber first and then moved to airtel. Very happy with my decision

As long as it's just the pro rata bill, you do not have to worry about it. Pro Rata charges are for the customers' (our) benefit only. For example, if you got your connection within a month, and not at the beginning of the month, then it would be fair for you to pay only for that much service that you have used, right? You will not pay for the entire month when you have used Jio Fiber for just a few days in October, right? So, to start your billing cycle from November, Jio might have sent you a bill for the previous days that you used their services for (from 28 October).
Once you pay this bill, your billing cycle will continue from the 1st of every month. Just to be double sure, you can talk about this to your local service provider too.

Don't you think that your internet speed is a bit too less for a 40Mbps plan?

panchabhut wrote:Yes, that would make Airtel Fiber much cheaper and probably better than Jio Fiber. But then again, there are offers for Jio Fiber too. It's funny how both these broadbands are so competitive that it's confusing.Add the Axis Airtel Card cashback into the equation

KrishabhAgrawal wrote:True, 800 Mbps instead of 1Gbps won't affect much. But 500Mbps instead of 1Gbps will matter a lot, don't you think so? Also, for someone who wants more OTT apps, having just 2-3 apps from Airtel and 14+ apps from Jio will also make a lot of difference. And then we even have the installation charges and different internet speeds with both Airtel and Jio Fiber. So, I wouldn't say that this comparison is 'useless' as not everyone knows everything, right?Great useless comparison, Airtel: 4, Jio: 4... By the way, which connection are you using now if both of them are problematic at your location?

Thanks a lot, my friend. I had no idea about it...it's embarrassing.
Around 7 years ago i had fight with airtel customer care over the speed issue, that is when i realised that these companies are playing with words by writing Mbps and not mentioning it's bits per sec rather than bytes per sec.
ashish0193 wrote:That is so wrong of them. I wouldn't have known this if it wouldn't have been for you. Thank you so much.

With Airtel Xstream offering better internet speeds, Jio Fiber has more OTT app
I think you are wrong here . Actually the airtel xstream premium itself contains many apps in one which are :
ErosNow
SonyLiv
HoiChoi
SheemarooMe
LionsgatePlay
Ultra Epicon
manoramaMAX
Divo
Dollywood
Namaflix
Klikk
Docubay
HungamaPlay
ShortsTV
SocialSwag
Raj Digital TV
Chaupal
Making it a total of 17+2 ott apps
