VIP membership on Flipkart is a paid loyalty program where customers get benefits like 5% OFF with SuperCoins on every order (1 SuperCoin = ₹1), exclusive deals & discount coupons, and earn more Supercoins on every order compared to Plus & Premium members. Not a long ago, we shared with you how Flipkart has devalued Plus and Premium memberships and it seems like its turn for the VIP membership to get pricer now.
Here’s everything you need to know about Flipkart VIP membership price hike & the new price of Flipkart VIP membership.
Flipkart VIP Membership Price Hike Coming Soon!
Flipkart VIP membership launched in 2023 has become a must-have for frequent shoppers on Flipkart as the membership allows you to save extra with free delivery, flight perks, earn more SuperCoins, use more SuperCoins & more. In its early days, Flipkart VIP membership launched at ₹499 per year and was offering a surprise box during its pilot launch. Soon after, the platform discontinued offering any special surprise giftboxes along with VIP membership.
Now, it seems like customers would also need to pay a higher price to buy the Flipkart VIP membership. One of our dimers @B-Rabbit shared with us the VIP membership renewal banner that reads “Hurry! Prices go high at ₹799 soon!”
This banner seems to be available to those who are yet to renew their VIP membership.
Can we Stack Flipkart VIP Membership? Buy VIP Membership in Advance?
If you are amongst those users who still have their Flipkart VIP membership active, you might be wondering if you can purchase this membership in advance to avoid paying a higher price in future. Sadly, that doesn’t seem to work.
“Means you cannot extend your existing membership by buying a new membership. Even if you buy a new membership, it will show the end date as 12 months from now. But membership will expire as per the previous plan. You will have a hard time explaining this to customer care and getting a refund!”
So the answer is most likely no. You cannot do advance purchase for Flipkart VIP membership.

Flipkart Internet (the marketplace arm of Flipkart) reportedly did a GMV of $8.5 billion (₹70,541 Crores) in FY24 and cut its loss by 41%. With falling rupee, increasing competition and inflation, startups and loss-making companies seem to have begun feeling the heat and are turning to a more positive cash flow business. Recently SBI Credit Card changed some of its benefits and Axis Vistara credit cards also removed certain benefits.

@Bossom_Blossom Xactly, even after investing our hard earned money. We are getting fake news, toxic movies and web series. Bad for family and children. I myself am a victim to this. In time I slowly stopped using subscriptions. Only subscription I have are hotstar for cricket and old web series my parents watch. Amazon prime lite for shopping and entertainment.
no such announcements yet...but maybe they could be moving towards profitability. In FY24 too they cut their losses by 41% which shows that being profitable is getting more important to them day by day..
Even if you buy a new membership, it will show the end date as 12 months from now. But membership will expire as per the previous plan.
My membership is expiring in 2 weeks. Does this mean if I purchase now, it will still get expired after 2 weeks only and not 1 year from now? It will be just waste of money?
@Vrushali.S di, thanks for the article. Here I want share a slightly off topic update. Currently there is a hoax about SC validity has been reduced to 1/3 months, which might be a wrong information to best of my knowledge. Obviously, the game SC have 1 month validity, but I'm getting 6 months validity on my orders. It depends on seller is written, but luckily I haven’t encountered any SC validity (after product purchase) less than 6 months!
Subscription loop,
Amazon
Flipkart
Hotstar
Netflix
Timesprime
Swiggy
Zomato
What not, see how much money you are loosing monthly

I am sure its VIP Account - right?..
I have Two FK accounts - VIP and another Plus Premium..
Its true (Based on Membership). Only Extra Coins validity is based on Seller/Product - same for all accounts...
Yep, mine is VIP
Thanks for the info, didn’t know there was any validity discrimination of SC based on account type!
